Buying a 4K TV? Read this.

Scientists at Oxford University just created nano pixels that are 20,000 times smaller than some of the smallest pixels to date. So what does that mean? Displays are about to get a whole heck of a lot prettier. How much prettier? Well 8K TVs are on their way in about 4 years and they feel like you’re looking at real life with nano pixels we may just forget we’re looking at screens all together.

Not only are these nano pixels extremely small, but they also don’t require energy to stay ‘on’ so these could be used for still images and never need energy input again and if an image has parts that don’t move we don’t need to expend energy to change it. This could be the last technology we’ll ever need for two dimensional images as we won’t have a need for resolutions any higher than this, they’ll be extremely low energy usage and they’re able to be printed onto flexible screens!

So before you go upgrading to a brand new 4K TV look at yourself in the mirror and think about how much cooler it would be if that were a TV. That’ll probably be coming soon too. oh wait…
